Night nappies are about 4 things:
1. Absorbency – figuring out how much you need is a big part of it! This should be enough for heavy wetters (not fire truck heavy wetters- but adding absorbency is easy).. but enough if you are currently leaking out of disposables! Perfect for tummy sleepers, boys etc!
2. Fit of a cover. The bulk of the absorbency means there’s a bit more “knack” involved. Make sure you don’t have gaps in the legs or too much gaping in the tummy. Ensure all fabric is tucked in and (if in doubt) send me a pic. I love it! Wool is amazing.. I highly recommend the investment.
3. Compression. Sometimes you need to let out a rise snap in the cover with the extra bulk.
4. Mental health! When I first started night nappy-ing (not a word) the thought of getting leaks and missing out on sleep were just too much. That’s why I only started with third child. Now we get leaks semi often (specially lately when I’ve been doing things on purpose to get leaks so I can help you guys out better).. and I don’t even think about it. If you can persevere though a few nights of trial and error, I recon we can tots get you there!
However, we all need sleep. It’s a fact. Kids rob us of enough and no-one wants to wake up more often than they need to! At the end of the day (or night hehe).. if night nappy-ing isn’t working for you and you’ve given it a solid go (i.e. message me and i’ll see if i can help).. then we can work on refunding your $. All I ask is you post it on to someone else who might be keen to try! I hate waste hehe.
Nailing the night nappy game is such a joy… the joy of never “needing” disposables!
